What is disability pride?
Content Section
Disability pride is an attitude towards disability that views disability as something that enriches the world and, in this case, workplaces.
Traditionally, disability has been perceived as a negative, as something to be ashamed of, or something that limits people. But disability pride rejects that idea. Disability pride is a direct challenge to the low expectations that the world can have of us.

Disability pride means different things to different people.
We have created several videos where young people talk about what disability pride means to them.
In this video, young people answer the question, “what is the best thing about having a disability?”

One element of disability pride is a reflection on the progress that the disability community (sometimes with the help of our allies) have made in the past.
Looking back on what has been achieved in the past can motivate us to keep striving for a better future for people with disability.
